Kanye West Debuts Highly Anticipated New Album YE
Well it’s here!
Kanye West invited a select group of family, friends, journalist and music’s most influential to Jackson Hole, Wyoming for an exclusive unveiling of his 8th solo studio album YE. Comedian Chris Rock introduced the new project. Fans were able to partake in the listening session through the live streaming app WAV. The album has yet to surface on digital platforms and the track list has not been shared with the public.
YE is produced entirely by Kanye and stays true to the 7 track theme that he mentioned via twitter in April. To make YE an experience Kanye joined forces with artists like, Ty Dolla $ign, Nicki Minaj, 070 Shake, Kid Cudi, Young Thug, Jeremih and Charlie Wilson. Each feature manages to take on a life of it’s own. The Chicago native also name drops individuals like Russell Simmons, Stormy Daniels, Tristan Thompson and Sway.
As far as favorites go, Track 5 is a moment, the Slick Rick sample is everything. Kanye also didn’t shy away from his marriage and dedicated a heartwarming song to his wife, “For every down female that stuck with they dude through the best times/ through the worst times/ this is for you.”
Throughout the listening session Kanye seemed thrilled, relieved and genuinely happy. Although, I am not ready to say that YE is a fire album, It’s good to see Kanye enjoying himself and his music again. Now let that joint go Ye, the streets want to hear it!
