3. Beyoncé “Beyoncé”
December 13, 2013
Sneak Attack Bey- This album was pivotal for me because it was with this album that I officially became a member of the Bey Hive!
The idea of releasing an album with full visuals and no promotion was unheard of and Beyoncé was the only person that could pull it off. She shook up the industry. I remember waking up and eagerly turning my IHeartRadio app on to hear what the Breakfast Club had to say about the surprise, Queen Bey had the streets buzzing.
Memory Lane: Beyoncé was the first album that I ever purchased via a streaming platform. Recently I was reminiscing about the first time I heard “Flawless” and how sexy and confident it made me feel in my womanhood. How precious Blue Ivy was on her first of many Carter features. How “Drunk in Love” had everyone debating on what the hell “watermelon” actually was and how Nicki Minaj came through once again giving fans another classic feature on the remix to “Flawless”.
Beyoncé was eye-opening, vulnerable and sexy, and the visuals were even hotter. I felt like at that moment we were getting a peek at the Beyoncé we see today.
