Big brother meets little brother on this dynamic matchup between two Hip-Hop icons. Kanye and Hov left fans yearning for more with Watch the Throne. We listened as each record flowed seamlessly from one to the other, making it the best collaborative album of the decade.
Choosing my favorite records from WTT wasn’t easy, but I managed.
Kanye West sampled Otis Redding’s “Try a Little Tenderness” on “Otis” bringing new flavor to a classic. If there was ever a song that boosted my confidence, this one would be it. I transform from a calm spirit to the cockiest, swaggiest person in the Universe, reciting every boastful bar as if I wrote it myself. Lucky for y’all the song is only 2 minutes and 58 seconds. “Murder to Excellence” is Black Power- period! “Ni**as in Paris”, makes me want to travel to Europe simply to blast this record at ignorant volumes in front of the Eiffel Tower, and then we have the last 2 minutes of “Who Gon’ Stop Me”. Hov’s rapping and the way the beat switches up- Magic!
